The ISO 22000 provides a standard that isn't just for food processors, starting at the farm right through to the fork, including packaging and ingredient suppliers, caterers, storage & distribution facilities, chemical and machinery manufacturers and can be applied to primary producers such as farms.

Developed and based on the assumption that the most effective food safety systems are designed, operated and continually improved within the framework of a structured management system as well as being incorporated into the overall management activities of the organization.

Transition to ISO 22000:2018
(from ISO 22000:2005 to ISO 22000:2018 version)

The ISO 22000 standard was updated in June 2018.  There is a 3 year transition period for all clients to update their certification by 19 June 2021. 

A transition checklist is available on request which you can use to measure your transition progress. 

Telarc is now fully accredited by JAS-ANZ (accreditation body) to offer certification against ISO 22000:2018 version.

Following is a summary and timeline of important dates to note for this transition:

The ISO 22000:2018 standard was published in
June 2018

A 3 years transition period was issued by
ISO & Jas-ANZ in
June 2018

Existing clients will be assessed against the requirements of ISO 22000:2005
until 19 January 2020

Non-fulfillment of the requirements of ISO 22000:2018 will be raised as a non-conformity 
after 19 January 2020

There will be no certificates issued against ISO 22000:2005 
from 19 June 2020

ISO 22000:2005 certificates will have expiry dates of
no later than 19 June 2021
