New International Health and Safety standard, ISO45001

The new ISO health and safety standard, ISO 45001, was introduced in March 2018. This is the first international standard to be issued covering health and safety at work. This new standard will replace both BS 18001 and AS/NZS 4801.

ISO 45001:2018 has the same structure and similar content to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. The new standard includes most of the content from previous regional standards (BS 18001 and AS/NZS 4801), but introduces some new concepts that will require organisations to go beyond generic frameworks. The focus will now require consideration of the needs of interested parties, and the context of your organisation.
