
BRCGS Food Safety Standard Update – Clause 7.4.2

BRCGS has recently issued an update to Food Safety Standard F926, Clause 7.4.2, strengthening the requirements relating to protective clothing and footwear within certified sites.
The revised requirements are intended to reinforce best practices for maintaining product safety and protecting production environments from contamination risks.
These changes will become effective from 10 August 2026. From this date, Telarc auditors will verify compliance with the updated requirements as part of scheduled BRCGS Food Safety assessments.
We encourage certified sites to review the revised clause and assess their current arrangements for protective clothing and footwear to ensure compliance ahead of implementation.
