Anyone delivering aeromedical or air rescue services in New Zealand should meet the Aeromedical and Air Rescue Standard. This developing standard aims to ensure the safe, consistent quality of these services.
The Aeromedical and Air Rescue Standard aims to ensure that quality of service provided by air ambulance/air rescue services in New Zealand promotes safety, consistency and is patient focused. The standard is continually being refined and updated.
The standard is an initiative taken by the Aviation Industry Association of New Zealand Inc (AIA) to form an Air Rescue/Air Ambulance Division to exercise more control over the air rescue/air ambulance services in New Zealand.
The standards have been developed by AIA in consultation with ACC, health, ambulance and search and rescue authorities. Medical aspects have been examined and approved by a panel of medical experts.
Telarc has been selected as an approved audit agency that certifies organisations to the New Zealand Aeromedical and Air Rescue Standard.

How to achieve certification
Contact Telarc using our quote request form and we will help you through the process to achieve the certification(s) your organisation strives for.
The standards can be complex, but we’ve made it easy with simplified self-evaluation checklists that break down what you need to have implemented to meet the requirements of the standard. You can use the checklist to determine to what extent you already meet the requirements to become accredited, and which gaps need to be addressed.
Once you’re satisfied that your organisation meets the requirements, Telarc will audit your systems and either issue the certification or identify non-conformances that you need to address before certification is granted.
